Good to the Last Drop: Paula's Choice Empties

The New Year is just around the corner, and one of my biggest resolutions for 2016 is to live a simple, more minimalist life. Which means that over the next few weeks I'll be doing a big overhaul of my space, starting with the box of empty beauty products that's been piling up in my closet.

A couple of months ago I partnered with Paula's Choice to bring you a post featuring their amazing skin care products. A few of the items they sent me became such firm staples in my skin care routine that I've used some of them down to the #verylastdrop! So, which ones were my favorites?

The Moisture Boost Hydrating Treatment Cream was the first to go. I loved the rich consistency and hydration so much that I actually started using it both AM and PM, although it's technically marketed as a night cream. It's amazing for extra dry skin, and being fragrance free it's gentle enough to use on sensitive skin too. This is one product I definitely wouldn't hesitate to purchase in the future!

Next up was the Moisture Boost One Step Face Cleanser. I just recently finished this one up and now that I'm without it, I realize how much I loved it. It lathers up really well, dissolves all the makeup on my face, and although it takes a bit of work to remove, I like to think that means it's really doing its job. This is probably one of the best cleansers I've ever used, and it's another product I would be happy to repurchase.

Last up, I finished the Moisture Boost Essential Hydrating Toner (can you tell I really loved the Moisture Boost line?!) This one was simple, gentle, and effective. It removed any last bits of makeup or cleanser left over, and never made my skin feel stripped or dry. With other toners, I feel like as soon as I use them I have to go straight in with a moisturizer or else my skin feels super tight and dry and basically like it's crying for hydration. But with this one, I could easily wait a few minutes and do something else before going in with moisturizer.

Have you tried any Paula's Choice products? If you'd like to pick out a few of their amazing items, I have a coupon code for 20% off + free shipping that's good until the end of 2015! Click here to check out their products and get in on the deal.

Winter Skin Care Routine | Lipstick & Confetti

Hey lovies! Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you a post written by the wonderful Liz from "Lipstick and Confetti"! Liz is such a sweetie and her blog is gorgeous and amazing, plus she's a fellow Canadian so that's bonus points in my book. If you like today's post, make sure to head on over to her blog and say Hi :) Without further ado, take it away Liz!

The cold winter weather can be extremely drying for my skin, which results in switching up my skincare routine. This time of year I opt for richer, more hydrating products to offset the damage done from the cold weather. Today I’m going to walk you through my evening winter skincare routine and talk about the products that I use on a regular basis.

I start off my night time routine by removing my makeup with the Clinique Take The Day Off makeup remover. This stuff takes even the most stubborn makeup off with ease.

Then I cleanse my face using the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Daily Cleanser. This cleanser is gentle on my skin and doesn’t dry it out. I’ve been trying to get back into the habit of using my Clarisonic again in the evenings as well to really get a deep clean.

Twice a week I opt to do a face mask after I cleanse. Typically I do them on Sundays and Thursdays. My favourites right now are the Caudalie Instant Detox, which is great for clarifying, the Fresh Rose Face Mask, which is so hydrating, and the Boscia Bright White Mask, which makes my skin look brighter and more radiant.

Next up is toner. I’ve been using the Lush Eau Roma Toner water since the summer, but because of its hydrating qualities, I’ve continued to use it and have seen great results with it. You spritz it all over your face and you can either leave it to tighten your pores or rub it into the skin using a cotton pad for added moisture.

After that I like to apply a serum. Lately I’ve really been liking the LancĂ´me Genifique. This serum is a really nice anti-aging product but I find it also brightens my skin and is lightening up my acne scarring a bit as well.

Finally I apply a moisturizer. For nights I don’t use a face mask I opt for the Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Sleeping Facial and for the nights that I do use a face mask, I like the Origins Night-A-Mins cream.

My morning routine is really simple, as I find that works better for my skin, I cleanse and tone with the same products I mentioned above and then apply the L'Oreal Ideal Moisture Day Cream.

Do you change up your skincare routine for the colder months? Let me know your favourite hydrating products in the comments below!
